So its the new year and all the exercise equipment is on sale everywhere. My wife and I are trying to get fit and tone up. We both have reasons her’s is to look good in a maid of honor dress. I know she will look awesome. She’s following weight watchers and since I think November has lost a little over 10lbs with another 10lbs to reach her goal. I on the other hand got a little scare last year. One day I’m not sure why I decided to go on the scale, I figured it had been a while and I saw a number that scared the crap out of me. 188 effen pounds.. and to give a little context I’m only 5’8″ so it was all stomach due to years and years of drinking beer. I am a gadget freak.. if its new and cool I probably have one or want one. I had come across the Nike+ stuff and just got myself an IPhone so I got a new pair of shoes and the chip and as of Feb 15th I started running. It was slow at first Feb in Ottawa is the coldest month and I am not a fan of running on a treadmill. So I started with small distances and built up some endurance. Around Easter 2010 the weather was nice enough to run outside, so I plotted myself a 5k route around the neighborhood. My wife suggested using the Couch25K app to help motivate me.
